We report on IFS observations of the nuclear regions of 3C 120, using INTEGRAL at the 4.2m WHT telescope. We propose new methods to deblend the spectra of the nucleus and the host galaxy based in 2D decompositions, and to extract the spectra of the substructures in complex systems.

Advances in computer power and in simulation algorithms have made it possible to carry out simulations of the formation and evolution of galaxies throughout regions as large as those mapped by recent surveys of the local Universe.

Radio-loud AGNs can inhabit regions with a very rich ISM. The presence of this rich medium is likely related to the origin and evolution of the host galaxy and of the active nucleus. Recent observations show that a large fraction of radio galaxies contains a significant young stellar population.

An analytical and numerical study of the sensitivity of weak solar photospheric lines to temperatures, velocities, and magnetic fields has been developed. Our investigation is based on the concept of response functions (Ruiz Cobo & del Toro Iniesta 1994).

According to the hierarchical scenario, galaxies form in dark matter halos which grow via merging and accretion of small objects.
The CRISTA experiment (CRyogenic Infrared Spectrometers and Telescopes for the Atmosphere) measured the global distribution of infrared limb emission spectra in the Earth atmosphere during 2 Space Shuttle missions in November 1994 and August 1997.

The goal of this project is to investigate the kinematics of the ionized gas in High Redshift Radio Galaxies. In particular to consider if the extreme gas motions can be explained by simple gravitational motion models.
